Several GPXers have asked me about Coaches Counseling. I’m quite excited about this program. It has real potential to change the way many members train – giving them greater value.
Here’s a recent example….
Let’s call the member Tom. (Counseling sessions are confidential. I will share information with Pat and other coaches so as to help the member toward his goals. We will never discuss the sessions with other members.) Tom told Pat he was interested. Pat asked me to reach out.
I messaged Tom to complete the survey form (https://drive.google.com/a/biginsurancebrain.com/file/d/0B7eVMoJNaVd_R3JkZDFPb0xhbDA/view) and to let me know when he was ready to talk. A few minutes later, we were on the phone together.
Several issues came up in the review of the survey form. Tom noticed that his standings on the white board were slipping. He felt like his nutrition was OK. Tom does not have double-unders and would like to put in extra work for that skill. We talked about general health. As Tom had not had a stem-to-stearn physical in a while I suggested one. I recommended he talk to his doctor about blood tests to check nutrient and vitamin levels and other health markers. Mobility issues need some work too.
We set up some action plans. Tom is going to complete a food log. (You are doing that, right TOM?) He will go to Pat for info on a double-under progression. He is also going to start being more consistent about food prep and will be adding mobility work to his routine. The whole conversation took less than twenty minutes.
That was about a week ago. Next week I’ll followup with Tom. I’m tracking his gym attendance. (Yep TOM I’m watching you!) We will be talking about his progress in the next week or so.
Frankly, the counseling sessions told Tom some things he already knew. The followup sessions will help check his actions to his goals. He is more accountable now as he has someone watching.
Interested? Message me or Pat. The counseling is another way GPX membership is more valuable than other gyms. Let us help you get more from your training.
